Airports in Spain

Southern Spain is well served by 6 regional and international airports in Málaga, Córdoba, Sévilla, Jerez and Granada. Gibraltar international airport is also convenient for anyone travelling to Western Andalucía.
With a record 14.4 Million passengers in 2015 Málaga airport is the fourth busiest airport in Spain behind Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca and it is especially convenient for travellers with regular connections all over Europe that has a full range of passenger services and a large selection of low cost carriers. It is the airport used by the great majority of travellers visiting the Costa Del Sol .
The airport operates from three terminals and facilities at Málaga airport has had a massive expansion and can now caters for up to 20 million passengers a year, but is still limited by comparison to many other international airports. Don’t depend on picking up last minute shopping if your flight leaves out of hours, as you will be disappointed as the airport shops close very early.
Unlike other airports that feel like shopping and entertainment centres with aeroplanes outside, there is no disguising the fact that Málaga airport is a large waiting room. However, with the new terminal and second run way operational it has upgraded its shopping facilities and it does have some play areas for children that provide respite for weary travellers with little ones. Bear in mind that some of the goods available in duty free shops can be found cheaper in Spanish towns along the coast.
The RENFE train station at Málaga Airport leaves every 20 minutes and stops in Torremolinos, Arroyo de la Miel,  Benalmádena and Fuengirola. The route to Fuengirola has 13 stops and takes around 35 minutes.
The first train to Fuengirola leaves at 05.32am leaving every 20 minutes and the last train leaves at
There is also a train directly into Málaga city center (Maria Zambrano station and Málaga-Centro Alameda Station) which takes approximately 11 minutes and Málaga City now has a high speed train running directly to Madrid.
