Environmental Concerns in Spain
Due to a lack of industry, Andalucía and the Costa Del Sol enjoys one of the lowest levels of pollution in Europe, which means it’s one of the healthiest places to live in Europe.
The Junta de Andalucía, (Andalucía’s regional governing body) made a huge commitment to environmental issues with the introduction of Egmasa in 1989.
Since then, this organization has expanded and is now responsible for many projects in the area including the recycling and disposal of waste, mining, forest wildfire prevention and ecosystem conservation.
Close to home, most areas have a bottle bank and the facility to donate unwanted clothes to charity.
